THE 2008 SEA RAY® 290 SELECT EX
Knoxville, Tenn. If youre looking for a boat that can handle a crowd without sacrificing an ounce of
performance, take a look at Sea Rays 290 Select Ex. With exceptional styling, three spacious seating
plans and power options ranging from the standard 496 Magnum® Bravo® III Digital Throttle and Shift
sterndrive to twin gas or diesel sterndrives, its the sport boat that fills the bill beautifully.
The standard cockpit arrangement includes two bucket seats with flip-up thigh-rise bolsters, and a
U-shaped aft bench with walk-through transom that converts to a sun pad. The first optional layout comes
with a comfortable double helm seat with flip-up thigh-rise bolster, an adjustable back-to-back lounger
with flip-up bolster to port, a large circular aft seat with table and sun pad filler cushions plus contoured
fiberglass bow rider loungers with molded-in armrests, storage below and a standard bow table with filler
cushions. The second optional seating plan offers two swivel-bucket seats with flip-up thigh-rise bolsters,
a sweeping curved aft seat with storage below and an enormous gas-assisted sun pad.
With so much room for guests, Sea Ray still managed to place everything you need to entertain
family and friends close at hand like a wet bar with optional refrigerator, ice chest, carry-on cooler and
abundant storage. In fact, beneath the helm theres a huge lockable storage compartment.
Sea Rays 290 Select Ex features one of the industrys largest enclosed head compartments for a
boat in its class with lockable door, VacuFlush® head, pullout sprayer and sink. For optimum sound
quality, the boat has a standard Clarion® single CD system with amplifier and digital cockpit remote, plus
you can add an optional remote at the transom. Or if youre really serious about quality sound, you can
upgrade to a Polk/MOMO premium stereo system with component speakers, amplifiers, subwoofer and
transom remote.
While its definitely big, the 290 Select Ex is still agile enough to handle all types of water sports.
Just grab your skis, wakeboard or inner tubes out of the lighted floor storage compartment and hang on
for the ride. A center walk-though transom and integral swim platform with concealed three-step swim
ladder makes water access safe and easy. You can add even more room for diving or fishing with the
optional extended swim platform.
The control station is well protected by a standard stainless-steel windshield. The skipper has
every technical advantage available, including SmartCraft® diagnostics to help monitor depth, fuel usage,
engine hours and more for an added level of confidence. When you select a twin engine upgrade, you
can also add an optional SmartCraft VesselView which includes system maintenance records and more.
Standard technical features abound on the 290 Select Ex, like power steering, power tilt and trim, Vessel
Control System and Sea Rays exclusive illuminated waterproof switch pads with ISO symbols and
dimmer control.
As with all Sea Rays, the 290 Select EX was built to last with durable vinylester resin, a fiberglass
cockpit liner with direct overboard drainage and stainless-steel fittings. To create a truly stunning look,
you can dress it up with a fiberglass sport spoiler and colored hull in blue, black, burgundy, titanium or
pewter. The 290 Select Ex also comes with a full membership in the Sea Ray Owners Club, where you
