Crownline Boats, the troubled US sportsboat builder, has been sold and production is scheduled to resume in the 'very near' future.
Marine retailer Tony Zielinski, owner of Leisure Properties LLC, and pontoon builder Dave Wilson, owner of Misty Harbour and Ultracraft, joined together to purchase Crownline.
The original leadership team will be rejoining the company Kevin Riem will be vice president and general manager, Guy Coons will be CFO, Tami Murphy will be director of manufacturing operations, and Nathan Heisner will be manager of inside sales.
Crownline is reported to have had only six weeks of production since it shut down at Christmas. It was announced at the beginning of this month that an auction for all Crownline's assets was to take place on August 7.
Headquartered at West Frankfort, Illinois, Crownline builds bowriders, deck boats, cabin boats and cruisers.
